I am a wanderer through life and lover of spice.

I am passionate above traveling and food because it allows me to immerse myself into cultures unlike my own, and to appreciate the cultures I was born into. 

I am the eldest child of a Pakistani mother who emigrated to the US by way of Canada and a Kenyan father of Indian-Pakistani descent who grew up in Nairobi, London, Hawaii and New York City. They met in an Indian sweetshop in New York, and thus began my story (and also my natural sweethtooth and love for the world).

I am a mother of three boys, a wife to my opposite, and an attorney by training. I have a full-time role focusing in Employee and Labor Rights and it’s a feel good job that I took a few leaps of faith to get to.

In UNRAVELING my personal journey, my most euphoric self comes about when I can take a break from the daily grind and take my family to explore the world around us, or when I am working with spices to transform a dish that takes me some place but still smells like home.

I am passionate about travel, food, culture, health, theology, and history. 

My knowledge comes from the journeys I have taken to different countries, and all the people I met along the way, and the food that left me yearning for more. 

This site was created with ONE mission: to unravel fears about traveling solo or with kids, or venturing out to make your favorite Thai or Egyptian dish.
